Oʻahu's first island-wide baptism
In 2024, believers from churches across Oʻahu met on the beach at Magic Island and baptized more than 220 people in one morning.
It wasn't one church's event. It was the whole body of Christ on the island, side by side in the water, giving a public witness to the Gospel. And it was only the beginning.
The vision
Picture baptisms on beaches all the way around Oʻahu, all happening on the same day, at the same time. Then picture it on every Hawaiian island. Local churches, one Gospel, one shoreline that circles the whole island.
The mark · one brushstroke
Everything starts here. The tall stroke and the crossbar form the cross of Jesus. Baptism doesn't make us clean on its own. It points to what Jesus already did when he died and rose again. In the water we are baptized into his death, so we can share his new life.
Follow the stem of the cross down and it loops into a drop of water. That is on purpose. When Jesus was pierced on the cross, blood and water flowed from his side. The water of baptism flows from the cross: an outward picture of the inward washing only he can give.
Look again at the loop and the two strokes crossing above it: it's the ichthys, the Christian fish. Early believers drew it to say "I belong to Jesus" when that was dangerous to say out loud. ΙΧΘΥΣ spells Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior. Baptism is our public version of that sign.
The cross is what Jesus did. The water is how we respond. The fish is who we become: his followers, out in the open. Drawn in one unbroken stroke, because baptism is one story. His death, our washing, our new identity, all declared together on the shore.

Why celebrate with us?
Most churches have their own baptism celebrations, and we love that. Island Wide Baptism adds something no single church can do alone.
We believe this is a history-making moment for the Gospel in Hawaiʻi, with a story that reaches people around the world.
Your baptism becomes more than a personal declaration. It joins a collective witness of believers united under one truth and one mission.
Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus. Our partner programs help support your spiritual growth after you come up out of the water.
